Sean Homer

SeanHomer 003Sean Homer is Associate Professor of Literature at the American University in Bulgaria. He is author of Fredric Jameson: Marxism, Hermeneutics Postmodernism (Cambridge: Polity Press, 1998) and the Routledge Critical Thinkers introduction to Jacques Lacan (London: Routledge, 2005). He is also the co-editor, With Douglas Kellner of Fredric Jameson: A Critical Reader (London: Palgrave, 2004) and,with Ruth Parkin-Gounelas and Yannis Stavrakakis, ‘Objects: Material, Psychic, Aesthetic’, Gramma: Journal of Theory and Criticism (2006). Most recently he has been publishing on Balkan Cinema and Slavoj Žižek’s politics, especially insofar as they relate to the Balkans. He has published in Slavic Review, Jump Cut, Psychoanalysis, Culture and Society, Gramma, Radical Philosophy, New Formations and The Letter. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of Annual Review of Critical Psychology, Psychotherapy and Politics International and Oxford Bibliographies Online. His research interests include critical theory, Lacanian psychoanalysis and Balkan cinema.
